Upper KS2 Class Teacher - Maternity Cover (Preston Area)

Spencer Clarke Group are working with supportive primary schools in the Preston area who are looking to appoint dedicated teachers for two Upper Key Stage 2 maternity cover positions starting January 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic teachers with strong experience in KS2 to make a real difference in the classroom.

The roles available:

Year 6 Class Teacher (Full Time)

• Full-time maternity cover
• Teaching Year 6 pupils and preparing them for end of Key Stage 2 SATs and secondary transition
• Supporting pupil progress and contributing to a positive learning environment

Year 5/6 Class Teacher (Part Time - 4 Days Per Week)

• Maternity cover, 4 days per week
• Teaching a mixed Year 5/6 class, planning and delivering engaging lessons
• Supporting pupils across both year groups, with a focus on readiness for Year 6 SATs

What we're looking for:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience in Upper Key Stage 2 (Year 5/6 or Year 6)
• Excellent subject knowledge and classroom management skills
• Commitment to inclusive practice and pupil progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
