Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Officer for a Local Authority Client in Essex.
In this role, you will manage a patch of 400 properties, overseeing tenancy management, rent arrears recovery, estate inspections, and tenancy audits to ensure well-maintained, thriving communities.
Duties:
- Manage rent arrears, tenancy sign-ups, audits, and mutual exchanges, providing support to sustain tenancies.
- Conduct estate inspections, monitor property conditions, and liaise with contractors to ensure timely repairs.
- Respond to tenant enquiries, anti-social behaviour, and complaints, providing advice and linking to relevant agencies.
- Maintain accurate casework records, use housing management systems, and provide performance data on rent, re-lets, and satisfaction.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience working in a social housing environment.
- Practical experience of rent arrears management and debt collection.
- Experience handling tenancy sign-ups, audits, and mutual exchanges.
- Experience working with tenants, leaseholders, and external agencies to resolve issues and support tenancy sustainment.
What's on offer:
Salary: £27+
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 4-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
