Unqualified Teaching Assistant - SEN Support
Location: Preston
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Ongoing / Long-term
Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Pay: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
We are recruiting Unqualified Teaching Assistants to work within primary and secondary schools across Preston, providing vital support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This role is well suited to individuals with experience working with children or supporting people with additional needs who are looking to gain or develop experience in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN
Support pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging with learning
Support emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to maintain a positive learning environment
Support pupils during transitions, break times, and structured activities
About You
Experience working with children or individuals with SEN (education, care, youth work, support work, or similar backgrounds)
A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A genuine interest in supporting children and young people
Available to start work immediately

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
