Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 15:30 (Term Time Only)
Salary: From £98 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role

Are you experienced in social care, personal care, or support work and looking to transition into a rewarding role within education? We are currently seeking compassionate and reliable Unqualified Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs in mainstream primary schools across Preston.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your existing care and support skills in a classroom environment, helping children feel supported, included, and confident in their learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide targeted 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language needs, and challenging behaviour

• Support pupils to access the curriculum by adapting activities and resources to meet individual learning needs

• Promote inclusion, safety, and engagement during lessons, break times, and school activities

• Work collaboratively with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver effective, child-centred support

• Build strong, positive relationships that support pupils' emotional wellbeing, confidence, and independence

About You

We are looking for individuals who have:

• Experience in social care, personal care, SEN support, youth work, or similar settings

• A genuine interest in working with children within an educational environment

• Patience, empathy, and a calm, nurturing approach

• Flexibility and creativity when supporting children with varying needs

• A proactive, team-focused attitude and a willingness to learn

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
