We are seeking a dedicated, resilient and compassionate Unqualified Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Bolton. The role involves working with students who require additional emotional, behavioural and academic support, helping them to access learning and develop positive relationships within school.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to teachers and pupils across KS3 and KS4

• Work 1:1 or in small groups to support SEMH needs

• Assist with behaviour regulation, emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning

• Build positive, trusting relationships with students

• Contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

• Support pupils in managing transitions, routines and social interactions

Requirements

• Must hold a full UK driving licence (role may involve travelling between sites or supporting off-site activities)

• Must have an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service

• Must be able to provide two recent, professional references

• Experience with SEMH, challenging behaviour, youth work, or pastoral support is highly desirable

• Strong communication skills, patience, and a calm, trauma-informed approach

• Willingness to learn and develop within the role
