Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Daily Rate: £98 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time (Temp to Perm Opportunity)
Are you a proactive, hands-on individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? A welcoming Primary School in Preston is looking to appoint a full-time Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant to start in September.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in care, social work, or SEN environments, looking to build a long-term career in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting children aged 4-11 with a range of complex needs, including SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), non-verbal communication, and challenging behaviours
- Assisting with classroom activities and learning tasks under the guidance of the class teacher
- Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupils' individual needs
- Supporting pupils with personal care and emotional regulation
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Encouraging independence and positive social interaction through active, sensory-based activities
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working in SEN settings, care environments, or as a Social Worker
- Experience with SLD, non-verbal communication, or challenging behaviours is highly desirable
- A busy, active, and enthusiastic approach to learning support
- A calm, patient, and resilient attitude
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- A genuine passion for making a difference in children's lives

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
