Unqualified Teaching Assistant - Primary SEMH Provision - Eccles (M30 Area)

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Unqualified Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision in the Eccles (M30) area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs. Previous experience working with children is desirable; however, transferable skills are also warmly accepted (e.g. care work, youth work, coaching, support roles).

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in the classroom and during activities
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering structured and engaging lessons
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively
  • Encouraging engagement, confidence, and social development
  • Supporting classroom routines, structure, and organisation
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all pupils at all times

Requirements

  • Experience working with children OR transferable skills (care, support work, youth work, coaching)
  • Calm, patient, and consistent approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children
  • Passion for supporting children with SEMH needs
