About the Role

We are working with a welcoming SEND school in Skelmersdale that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant to support pupils across both primary and secondary age groups.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone without formal qualifications but with the right attitude and transferable experience-whether that's in care, support work, youth work, or personal experience supporting individuals with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Support pupils with a range of SEND needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
• 
  Assist the class teacher with delivering engaging and accessible lessons
• 
  Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• 
  Support with personal care where required
• 
  Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
• 
  Build strong relationships with pupils and staff

Who We're Looking For

• 
  Background in care, support work, youth work, or similar
• 
  Personal experience supporting individuals with additional needs is highly valued
• 
  Patient, resilient, and proactive approach
• 
  Willingness to learn and develop within a school setting
• 
  Comfortable working with both primary and/or secondary pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
