SEND Support Assistant - Primary & Secondary Provision (Chorley)
Location: Chorley
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30
Contract: Term Time Only
Pay: £98 - £106 per day (depending on experience)
We are recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEND Support Assistants to join a specialist SEND provision school in Chorley, supporting pupils across both primary and secondary age ranges.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about making a real difference to the lives of young people with additional needs.
The Role
You will be working closely with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing consistent, nurturing support throughout the school day. Pupils may present with autism, SEMH needs, learning difficulties, or complex needs.
Responsibilities include:
Providing 1:1 and small group support
Supporting learning, engagement, and emotional regulation
Assisting pupils with personal care where required
Supporting behaviour using positive and trauma-informed approaches
Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and therapists
Helping pupils develop independence, confidence, and life skills
Essential Experience
We are looking for candidates who have relevant experience, including:
Experience as a Support Worker, Youth Worker, or Care Worker
Personal experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
Experience working with SEND, SEMH, autism, or challenging behaviour
Confidence and willingness to support with personal care (essential)
