Unqualified Teaching Assistant

Location: Burnley, East Lancashire
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £107 - £115 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: 08:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Term Time Only

We are currently recruiting an enthusiastic and reliable Unqualified Teaching Assistant to work within a school setting in the Burnley area. This role involves supporting primary and secondary aged students, helping them to access learning and engage positively throughout the school day.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students

  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning support

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs, including behavioural and emotional needs

  • Helping with classroom routines and transitions

  • Creating a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential

  • Ability to travel within Burnley and surrounding areas in East Lancashire

  • Experience within SEN or specialist provisions is desirable

  • Minimum of 24 months employment history, with no significant gaps

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Child Workforce), or willingness to apply and pay for one

  • Reliable, adaptable and keen to develop experience within education
