Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Triage and Prevention Officer for a Local Authority Client in Kent.
In this role, you will deliver expert housing advice and statutory homelessness support to those in housing need.
Duties:
- Deliver housing advice, housing options, and statutory homelessness assessments.
- Make legally sound decisions in line with Parts VI & VII of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Act 2002.
- Manage complex homelessness cases, including prevention, relief, and main duty decisions.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with legislation, case law, and the Code of Guidance.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Extensive experience delivering statutory homelessness and housing options services.
- In-depth, up-to-date knowledge of Parts VI & VII of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Act 2002.
- Proven experience making robust, legally defensible homelessness decisions.
- Strong background in applying case law and the Homelessness Code of Guidance in practice.
What's on offer:
Salary: £25ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
