Spencer Clarke Group is recruiting an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a welcoming primary school in Nottingham.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a Year 1 classroom on a part-time basis, supporting pupils to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The Role


  • Provide classroom support within a Year 1 class on Thursdays and Fridays.

  • Assist pupils with a range of learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum.

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and existing support staff to promote positive learning outcomes.

  • Encourage pupils' social, emotional and academic development.

  • Help create a safe, engaging and supportive classroom environment.


Please note that this is a Teaching Assistant role only and does not include any teaching responsibilities.

About the Class


  • Approximately 40% of the class have Special Educational Needs (SEN), including pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD and other additional needs.

  • Around 20% of pupils are eligible for Pupil Premium funding.

  • There are two pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who are supported by two dedicated support workers within the classroom.

The Ideal Candidate


We are looking for someone who:


  • Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school.

  • Is confident supporting children with a variety of SEN.

  • Is patient, adaptable and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • Can work effectively as part of a classroom team.

  • Is reliable and committed to providing high-quality support.


Please note: This position is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs), as the school is specifically seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
