We are currently recruiting for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Bury. This full-time role involves providing dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and thrive within the classroom environment.


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEND Support Worker looking for a rewarding role supporting a child on an individual basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs throughout the school day.
  • Supporting a child with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH or communication difficulties.
  • Implementing strategies to support emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement.
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to deliver tailored support.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and participation in classroom activities.
  • Building a positive, trusting relationship to support the pupil's academic, social and emotional development.
  • Monitoring progress and providing feedback to the wider school team.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN/SEND, ideally in a 1:1 setting.
  • A patient, calm and nurturing approach.
  • Confidence managing additional needs and responding positively to challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated school team.
