Are you a patient, resilient, and compassionate individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming primary SEN school in Bolton, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to provide tailored support for pupils with ASC. You will play a key role in helping children access learning, develop social and communication skills, and thrive in a structured, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASC
- Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies
- Support communication using visual aids, PECS, or other structured approaches
- Help create a calm, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to the class teacher
- Support pupils with personal care where required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with children with ASC or other SEN needs (preferred)
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to adapt and respond to individual pupil needs
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
