SEMH Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEMH School (Bolton)
Start Date: January 2026

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our specialist Secondary SEMH School in Bolton from January.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to re-engage with education, develop positive relationships, and achieve their potential in a nurturing and structured environment.

The Role:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis

  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons

  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation

  • Supporting pupils with both academic and pastoral needs

  • Assisting with de-escalation and behaviour management strategies

  • Supporting off-site activities and interventions

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional needs (desirable)

  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team

  • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle (essential for this role)
