Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting young people with complex needs?

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary SEN school in Oldham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment, helping pupils aged 11-19 with a range of complex needs, including autism, communication difficulties, sensory impairments, and medical or physical needs.

The Role:

• Support students with EHCPs on a 1:1 or small group basis

• Assist with implementing individual learning and behaviour plans

• Provide personal care and mobility support when required

• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure holistic care

• Create a nurturing and structured environment that promotes learning and independence

Requirements:

✅ Previous school-based experience is essential
✅ Experience supporting pupils with complex SEN
✅ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
✅ Calm, patient and flexible approach
✅ Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
