Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary SEN school in Rochdale, working with pupils aged 11-19 who have a range of complex needs, including autism, sensory processing difficulties, communication challenges, and learning disabilities.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with complex needs

• Assist with personalised learning programmes and behaviour support strategies

• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

• Support pupils with personal care, mobility, and feeding as required

• Help pupils develop communication, social, and life skills

About You:

We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about working with children and young people with special educational needs

• Calm, patient, and nurturing in their approach

• Experienced (or willing to be trained) in supporting children with complex learning and medical needs

• A strong communicator and team player

• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Previous experience in a similar setting is desirable but not essential - a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key.
