Job Summary
We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team, helping us create a positive and inclusive learning environment. The ideal person will love working with children, especially those with special educational needs, including autism. You'll be assisting teachers with lessons, providing one-on-one support, and helping every student feel encouraged and valued.
Duties
Help teachers prepare and deliver lessons that are tailored to the needs of individual students.
Offer one-on-one support to students with disabilities so they can fully participate in all classroom activities.
Lead small group sessions to reinforce learning and help students better understand concepts.
Mentor students and guide them in developing key social and emotional skills.
Work with teachers to check on student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed.
Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff about student needs and achievements.
Help maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and respect among peers.
Requirements
Experience working with children, especially those with special educational needs or disabilities.
Familiarity with teaching strategies and techniques used in special education.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach, particularly when working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
Previous experience in a tutoring or mentoring role is a plus.
