SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary SEN School (ASC & Complex Needs) - Bolton
Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in a nurturing environment? We are looking for a caring, patient, and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a primary SEN school in Bolton, supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex needs.
About the Role:
In this rewarding role, you will support pupils aged 4-11 with a range of needs including autism, communication difficulties, sensory needs, and complex learning challenges. Working closely with class teachers and specialist staff, you will play a key role in delivering personalised support that enables every child to engage, learn, and develop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual needs
- Assist in delivering structured, engaging, and sensory-friendly learning activities
- Support communication using methods such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables
- Help manage behaviour positively and consistently, following individual support plans
- Promote pupils' independence, social skills, and emotional wellbeing
- Assist with personal care where required
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children with ASC and/or complex needs (highly desirable)
- A calm, nurturing, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Willingness to learn and engage in specialist training
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
