💰 Pay: £190 - £220 per day (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
A welcoming and supportive primary school in Preston is seeking an experienced and dedicated Teacher of the Deaf to join their team from January 2026. This is a full-time, term-time only position supporting pupils with hearing impairments, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and other additional needs within a specialist provision environment.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, while also working closely with support staff, SLT, and external specialists.
What We're Looking For:
✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
✅ Preferably holds a Teacher of the Deaf qualification - desirable but not essential
✅ Preferably able to communicate using sign language - desirable but not essential
✅ Experience teaching in specialist provisions or working with pupils with SLCN
✅ Strong communication, patience, and adaptability
✅ A committed and experienced classroom practitioner
Requirements:
Must hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (UDS) or be willing to apply and pay for one
Must have a minimum of 2 years of employment references with no large gaps
Must be an experienced teacher confident in supporting diverse learning needs
