Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Targeted Housing Advisor for a Local Authority Client in South London.
In this role, you will provide expert housing advice, process homelessness applications, issue legally compliant decisions, and support service users to secure and maintain suitable accommodation.
Duties:
- Assess and make decisions on homelessness applications in line with legislation.
- Prevent homelessness through mediation, advice, and partnership working.
- Support households to access temporary and permanent accommodation.
- Provide basic debt and welfare benefits guidance to mitigate housing risks.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Process homelessness applications in line with Part VI & VII of the Housing Act 1996.
- Provide advice on housing options, welfare benefits, and prevention strategies.
- Issue S184 decisions and create Personal Housing Plans for applicants.
- Collaborate with partner agencies to support vulnerable households.
What's on offer:
Salary: £28ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
