Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Support Officer - Homelessness Prevention & Advice for a Local Authority Client in Surrey.
In this role you will provide administrative and customer service support across the Housing Options Unit, helping residents who are homeless or in housing need.
Duties:
- Provide administrative and telephone support across the Housing Options Unit, responding to enquiries and maintaining accurate records.
- Support homelessness prevention and housing assessments by booking appointments, assisting with Personal Housing Plans, and liaising with partner agencies.
- Assist with securing and managing temporary and private rented accommodation, including placements, welfare checks, and income monitoring.
- Update housing, homelessness, and temporary accommodation systems to support move-on, nominations, and compliance with housing processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience of providing administrative or customer service support in a busy, public-facing environment.
- Experience of handling high volumes of telephone and email enquiries in a professional and sensitive manner.
- Experience of maintaining accurate records and using databases or case management systems.
- Experience of working with vulnerable clients or within housing, homelessness, or related support services.
What's on offer:
Salary: £22
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 8 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
