Behaviour SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Blackpool
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term (with potential for permanency)
Hours: Full-time, term-time

We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school setting in Blackpool, working on a long-term basis with an immediate start available.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs, and who thrives in a role where building trust, consistency, and positive relationships is key.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural needs

  • Supporting children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and challenging behaviour

  • Implementing behaviour strategies and positive behaviour support plans

  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and engage positively with learning

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff

  • Creating a calm, safe, and structured learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural or SEN needs (school-based or alternative settings welcomed)

  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach

  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

  • Backgrounds in education, care, youth work, or support work are highly desirable

  • A genuine commitment to making a positive impact on pupils' lives

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
