Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Social Housing Assessment and Lettings Officer for a Local Authority Client in West London.
In this role, you will assess and manage housing applications, support choice-based lettings, and help ensure the council's social housing is allocated fairly.
Duties:
- Register applicants, carry out verifications, home visits, and medical assessments, and determine housing priority.
- Support choice-based lettings, organise property adverts, viewings, and offers, and handle customer enquiries.
- Keep accurate application records and manage ongoing housing cases efficiently.
- Help maximise use of council housing and manage applicants' expectations.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience in social housing assessments, lettings, or housing management.
- Knowledge of housing legislation (Housing Act 1985 & 1996 Part VI, Homelessness Acts, Localism Act).
- Experience working with choice-based lettings or housing allocation systems.
- Experience handling customer enquiries and managing casework efficiently.
What's on offer:
Salary: £27ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
