Social Care Officer - Family Time Officer

We're working with a valued client in Central Newcastle to appoint a dedicated Social Care Officer / Family Time Worker to join their Looked After Children Team.

In this rewarding role, you'll support and supervise family time sessions between children and their families, ensuring safe and positive contact. You'll record observations, work closely with social workers, and help deliver the best outcomes for looked after children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support family time sessions between children and their families.
• Ensure the safety and well being of children during contact sessions.
• Record detailed and accurate observations in line with safeguarding procedures.
• Provide practical and emotional support to children and parents.
• Work collaboratively with social workers and partner agencies.
• Contribute to assessments, care planning, and review meetings as required.

Key Requirements:

• Experience working with children, young people, or families in a social care or similar setting.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child development.
• Excellent communication and recording skills.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

Contract length: 3-6 months (with expectation of an ongoing extension)

Rate of Pay: £16-£20 per hour (Negotiable DOE).

Hours: Full time, 37 hours each week.
