Service Charge Manager

A Housing Association are looking to appoint a Service Charge Manager on an Interim basis. Spencer Clarke Group are working with the client to find the successful candidate.

What's on offer:

  • Rates: £30 - £40 per hour, inside IR35.

*Negotiable based on experience

  • Hybrid Working / 2 days per week on-site (flexibility available for strong candidates)
    Locations: Sittingbourne, Croydon, or Birmingham offices
  • Contract type: Contract (37 hrs a week)
  • Hours: 09:00 -17:30

About the role:

This interim position offers the chance to support one of the UK's leading housing providers with the preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of service charge budgets and accounts. You'll work closely with Home Ownership, Leasehold, and Finance teams, ensuring data is accurate, compliant, and clearly presented to residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of service charge budgets and year-end accounts, ensuring robust financial governance.
  • Provide senior guidance on complex service charge queries, delivering clear, reliable financial information to residents, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Lead collaboration across Home Ownership, Housing, and Finance teams, ensuring issues are resolved swiftly and processes run smoothly.
  • Approve and review detailed cost breakdowns, variance analysis, and financial forecasts, ensuring high-quality insight supports strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain and enforce rigorous standards of record-keeping, guaranteeing all documentation is consistently audit-ready.
  • Drive improvements to service charge processes and reporting frameworks, fostering greater efficiency, accuracy, and transparency across the service.

About you:
You will have the following experience:

  • Proven team leadership or management experience
  • Experience within Home Ownership, Leasehold, or Service Charges
  • Confident working in Excel, including handling and analysing datasets
  • Background in Finance, Housing, or related property sectors welcome
