Senior Technical Surveyor
Location: South West England
Rate: £32 - £45 Per hour DOE
Contract: 12 - Months
Spencer Clarke Group are working with a Southwest local authority to appoint a Senior Technical Surveyor into a busy Housing Adaptations service.
This is a hands-on role delivering Disabled Facilities Grant and wider adaptation projects, from feasibility and design through procurement and site delivery, supporting vulnerable residents to live safely and independently.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload of housing adaptation and construction projects, from inception to completion
- Acting as Principal Designer on applicable schemes, including pre-construction duties and H&S file production
- Producing specifications, drawings and schedules of work, including AutoCAD outputs
- Submitting and managing Building Regulations and Planning applications, including listed building consent where needed
- Tendering, appointing and managing contractors, monitoring quality, progress, budgets and final accounts
- Completing interim and final inspections, resolving issues on site, and maintaining accurate case records
About you:
- Background in Building Surveying, Architecture, Architectural Technology, or similar (degree/HND or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, planning process, and construction delivery in occupied properties
- Experience of project, budget, and contractor management
- Confident communicator, able to explain technical options clearly and empathetically to residents and families
- UK driving licence and ability to travel across Somerset
