Senior Speech and Language Therapist

Contract: Full time, permanent (52 weeks)

Salary: £46,000 to £53,000 per annum

Location: Based in Thatcham, Berkshire

We're looking for an experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist education and care provider in Thatcham, Berkshire, on a permanent basis.

This organisation offers education and residential care for autistic children and young people with complex needs, aged between 5 and 25 years.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of autistic young people with complex needs, including assessment, implementation, and review of therapy input to ensure measurable progress.
• To lead development and implementation of Speech and Language Therapy practices.
• Use clinical reasoning skills to analyse and interpret findings from both standardised and non-standardised assessments to identify communication strengths and needs.
• Contribute to the annual review process by providing high-quality written reports, reviewing EHCP targets, and attending annual review meetings (as required).
• Support the Head of Therapy in collecting evidence of SaLT impact, including assessment data, case studies, and feedback from staff and families.

Requirements:

• Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and current HCPC registration.
• Experience working and managing caseload as a qualified SALT.
• Use of clinical reasoning skills for both assessment and intervention planning
• Experience of mentoring or coaching others.
• Knowledge and experience of using a wide range of evidence based therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of autistic young people with complex needs.
