Senior Physiotherapist (Band 6 Equivalent)
Location: BL3 Area
Pay Rate: £35 per hour
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Senior Physiotherapist to join an Independent Living Service within Adult and Community Services. This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialist physiotherapy support to individuals with disabilities, helping to promote independence and improve quality of life.
About the Role
As a Senior Physiotherapist, you will play a key role in delivering specialist assessments, personalised care planning, and expert advice to service users with complex needs. You will work closely as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team, supporting both service users and wider professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake specialist physiotherapy assessments for people with disabilities
- Develop person-centred care and support plans to promote independence
- Provide physiotherapy advice, techniques, equipment recommendations, and adaptation support
- Deliver specialist training to carers, staff, and care providers
- Contribute to major complex adaptation schemes in liaison with housing services
- Manage a clinical caseload of service users with complex physiotherapy needs
- Maintain accurate records including risk assessments and service user contact
- Participate in a duty rota alongside team members
- Support the Team Manager with service delivery, supervision, and prioritisation of workloads
- Ensure continued professional development and compliance with HCPC and CSP standards
Essential Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
- Current HCPC registration
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience
- Strong knowledge of disability and its impact on daily living
- Ability to assess needs and recommend appropriate equipment/adaptations
- Excellent communication and record-keeping skills
- Ability to manage risk and work within integrated services
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Full driving licence and access to transport (essential car user post)
- Flexibility to work a rota including weekends
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in a community setting
- Moving and handling qualification
- Experience within elderly mental health services
- Supervisory or management qualification
