Senior Finance Business Partner - Education - Interim
Spencer Clarke Group are working closely with a Local Authority in the South West to appoint an Interim Senior Finance Business Partner to support the Council's Education service.
This is a key 6-month interim assignment focused on financial planning, forecasting and monitoring across a wide range of Education budgets, including DSG, transport, statutory services and traded education services.

The Role
The successful candidate will provide senior finance business partnering support across the Council's Education service, working closely with finance colleagues, budget holders and senior education leaders.
Key responsibilities:
· Leading on financial planning, forecasting and budget monitoring across Education services.
· Supporting DSG budgets, transport, statutory services and traded education budgets.
· Providing clear financial analysis, advice and challenge to budget holders and senior stakeholders.
· Identifying financial risks, opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
· Supporting the development and delivery of financial strategies.
· Preparing and presenting financial reports to support decision-making.
· Working with senior finance colleagues to maintain a high-quality and resilient Education finance service.
· Supporting and supervising a small team of Finance Business Partners.
· Contributing to service reviews, financial projects and continuous improvement activity.
About You
You will ideally have:
· Strong experience within Local Authority / public sector finance.
· Previous Education finance experience, ideally including DSG budgets.
· Proven experience in budget management, forecasting, monitoring and financial planning.
· Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
· Experience working closely with senior stakeholders and budget holders.
· Supervisory experience or experience supporting finance teams.
· A professional accounting qualification, part-qualification, MAAT, QBE or commitment to study.
· Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
