Rate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable DOE

Spencer Clarke Group are working on an opportunity for a Senior Childcare Lawyer to join a local authority in the Northwest region.

You will undertake a personal caseload of complex children's legal matters while contributing to the wider objectives of the Council and supporting the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults

The Role

• You will provide high-quality legal advice, advocacy and support across a wide range of children's safeguarding matters:

• Private and public law Children Act proceedings
• Adoption
• Forced marriage and Female Genital Mutilation cases
• Education law and immigration matters
• Judicial review and human rights challenges
• Inquests and complex multi-party cases

• Act as advocate for the Council and manage a varied caseload with competing demands.

About You

• You will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEX.

• Ability to advocate for the local authority.

• Experience handling more complex social care legal work.
