About the Role

Do you have a passion for supporting young people with additional needs and helping them thrive in a secondary school setting?

Spencer Clarke Group is working closely with several welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Wirral who are seeking Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistants to support students with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience supporting young people - whether in education, youth work, care, coaching, or similar environments - who are looking to gain hands-on classroom experience within SEND and progress their career in education. Formal qualifications are not required, though relevant experience or training is welcomed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with ADHD and ASC.
  • Support pupils with focus, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning.
  • Work under the guidance of teachers and SEN staff to implement support strategies and individual plans.
  • Assist in creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction.
  • Support students both in and out of the classroom where required.

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine passion for supporting students with SEND.
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm, consistent approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (preferred but not essential).
  • A flexible and reliable attitude to meet the needs of different school environments.
