Are you an experienced school-based professional ready to make a wider impact beyond the classroom?

We are recruiting a SEND Outreach Worker to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across primary and secondary settings in Halifax. This is a dynamic, hybrid position combining in-school support, outreach work, and multi-agency collaboration.

The Role

You will:

  • Work directly with SEND pupils in both primary and secondary schools
  • Deliver targeted interventions and tailored support strategies
  • Build strong relationships with families and school staff
  • Attend review meetings and multi-agency meetings
  • Deliver training and guidance where required
  • Travel between education settings across the area
  • Work flexibly to attend meetings or undertake specific duties, which may occasionally fall outside of standard school hours

Essential Criteria

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent (or higher)
  • Recent experience working in a primary or secondary school setting
  • Strong understanding of SEND and inclusive practices
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Access to your own vehicle
  • Willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of the role
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

You'll be proactive, adaptable, and confident working independently. You'll have a genuine passion for improving outcomes for SEND students and the ability to build positive, professional relationships with a range of stakeholders.
