SEND Improvement Lead  

Location - Local Authority in Southeast England

Salary: £550 - £650 per day

Contract: Initial 3–6-month contract with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.

Schedule – 5 days per week

3 days per week on site.

 

Spencer Clarke Group are working with a local authority in the Southeast of England to support with the recruitment of a SEND Improvement Lead.


The role involves working closely with senior leadership teams in SEND & Inclusion, as well as health leaders and partnership boards, to serve as a subject matter expert. It focuses on overcoming inequalities in provision for children and young people with SEND, establishing effective partnerships, and leading change in response to government initiatives.

 

This includes collaborating with the Department for Education and other authorities to develop Local Inclusion Plans, co-designing services with parent carers and young people, and managing resources to deliver high-quality programmes.

 

In order to be successful in this role:

 

  • Understanding of the DfE SEND & Alternative Provision Change Programme and the DfE Delivering Better Value programme.
  • Subject matter expertise in the leadership of SEND & inclusion at a local authority level.
  • Experience of leading on SEND in a school, college or local authority local authority, including the associated management of resources.
