SENCO (Maternity Cover) - Blackpool

Spencer Clarke Group are proud to be supporting a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Blackpool who are seeking a passionate SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to cover a maternity leave from January 2026.
This is a split timetable role, combining 3-4 days per week teaching within the school's SEN class and 1-2 days per week allocated to SENCO duties. The ideal balance between hands-on classroom impact and strategic SEND leadership.
The Role
- Lead and coordinate provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Work closely with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
- Maintain and manage EHCP processes, interventions, and personalised learning plans.
- Teach a small, well-supported SEN class (3-4 days per week) providing engaging, differentiated lessons.
- Oversee and support Teaching Assistants and classroom staff in inclusive practice.
- Contribute to the wider school community, promoting a culture of inclusion and achievement for all.
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - SENCO qualification preferred (or willing to work towards it).
- Experience supporting children with a range of SEND, including Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- A reflective, proactive practitioner who leads with empathy and enthusiasm.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
