We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in East Lancashire to appoint a dedicated and experienced SENDCo to lead and develop their Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision.

This role is to cover an upcoming maternity leave.

This is a key role within the school, offering the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on pupils' outcomes while working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, staff, families, and external agencies.

The Role

As SENDCo, you will:

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across EYFS to Key Stage 2
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Oversee and coordinate EHCPs, reviews, and graduated response plans
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, TAs, parents, and external professionals
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve SEND outcomes across the school
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to staff to promote inclusive practice
  • Report on SEND provision and impact to SLT and Governors

The Ideal Candidate

  • We are looking for someone who:
  • Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is working towards it)
  • Has proven experience as a Primary SENDCo or substantial SEND leadership experience
  • Has strong knowledge of EHCP processes and multi-agency working
  • Is confident leading staff and supporting inclusive classroom practice
  • Is passionate about championing children with SEND

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
