Position: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENCO)

Location: Bishop Stortford

Contract: Full-Time, Contract Position

Start Date: ASAP

Pay: £270 - £300 per day

The Role

As SENCO, you will lead SEND provision across the college, ensuring the learners receive the best possible support during their college journey.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing provision for students with SEND
  • Working closely with class teachers, parents, and external professionals to implement tailored interventions
  • Monitoring the progress and outcomes of SEND pupils, ensuring effective strategies are in place
  • Providing guidance, coaching, and CPD to staff on SEND and inclusion best practice
  • Championing the college's inclusive ethos and contributing to the wider strategic development of SEND provision

About You

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the National Award for SEN Coordination (or be working towards it)
  • Proven experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
  • A strong commitment to inclusion and the wellbeing of all pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Spencer Clarke Group work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary, Special Education needs and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
