Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming primary school in Preston to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties, SEMH needs and barriers to learning. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide support on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and within the wider classroom environment.

The Role

• As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will help pupils to access learning, develop independence, build positive relationships and engage successfully in school life.
• You will be responsible for:
• Providing tailored support to pupils with additional needs
• Supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Helping pupils manage emotions, behaviour and transitions
• Adapting learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher
• Encouraging confidence, independence and positive engagement
• Working closely with teaching staff, the SENCO and wider support team

• A positive team player with strong communication skills
• Experience within a school, care, youth work, residential support, psychology, mental health or SEND setting would be highly beneficial.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
