SEN Teaching Assistant
South Manchester

Are you an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant looking to support children with complex special educational needs?

We are recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist setting in the South Manchester area. This role involves supporting pupils with complex needs, including learning difficulties, communication needs, and physical disabilities.

This position will initially be secured through an agency, with potential for longer-term opportunities.


The Role:

  • Supporting pupils with complex SEND needs

  • Working 1:1 and in small groups

  • Assisting with personalised learning programmes

  • Supporting communication and sensory needs

  • Providing personal care, including toileting and hygiene support where required

  • Promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and therapists


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience working with children with complex needs

  • Comfortable and experienced in providing personal care

  • Patient, nurturing and resilient

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Experience within a specialist SEN school or resource provision is highly desirable

  • Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 TA or equivalent) are advantageous
