SEN Teaching Assistant

Based in Haydock
Full-time | Term-time only
Competitive salary (dependent on experience)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive educational setting in the Haydock area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs, helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties)

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities

  • Support pupils with behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing

  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets

  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment

  • Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school or care setting preferred)

  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) desirable but not essential
