About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school setting in Salford. This is a full-time position starting immediately, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across EYFS, KS1, KS2 or KS3/KS4 (depending on experience and school placement).
The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping students access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a nurturing educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
Implement and support Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lesson materials and learning strategies.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using agreed strategies.
Support pupils with personal care where required.
Assist in monitoring and recording student progress.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Support with transitions, breaktimes, and extracurricular activities where necessary.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (school, care, youth work, or similar settings).
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent - desirable but not essential).
