We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Rochdale. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Autism (ASC) to access learning, develop independence, and thrive both academically and socially within a mainstream secondary setting.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism
Supporting students in lessons across a range of subjects
Implementing EHCP targets and personalised support strategies
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Working closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals
Encouraging social interaction and confidence building
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people with Autism (school-based experience desirable)
Understanding of ASC strategies and inclusive practice
Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
