SEN Teaching Assistant - Preston

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm | Term-time only
Ages Supported: 4-16 | SLD, Autism, ADHD

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? Do you thrive in a hands-on, supportive environment where every day brings purpose? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Preston.

In this role, you will support children and young people aged 4-16 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism, and ADHD, helping them build confidence, independence, and life skills. You will work closely with teachers and therapists, providing both learning support and personal care where required.

What You'll Do

  • Support students 1:1 and in small groups to access learning and daily routines

  • Promote independence, social skills, and emotional wellbeing

  • Assist with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene

  • Implement positive behaviour strategies

  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff


Who We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting young people (SEN, care, youth work, or similar)

  • Reliable, proactive, and positive attitude

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team

  • Calm, empathetic, and resilient under pressure

  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and dignity at all times
