Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, term-time only
Hourly Rate: £12.37 - £13.49
Annual Salary: £22,102.72 - £24,103.93 (actual salary)
Main Purpose of the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting and developing students to help them become successful, independent learners within a safe and caring environment. You will build professional and trusted relationships with students, prioritising their health, safety, and development. The role includes supporting teaching staff in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum both on and off site. Flexibility is important; you may work 1:1 with a student or support small groups. Positive behaviour management is a key aspect of the role.
Key Duties
Support and facilitate students' learning and independence
Contribute to planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation of education programmes, plans, and reports
Assist in assessing, recording, and reporting on students' progress
Promote and encourage independence at all times
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed
Encourage the development of positive social behaviours and self-regulation
Perform a variety of duties as needed to support the wider team
Successful Candidate Qualities
Full UK driving licence and access to a car
Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English
Minimum working age on site: 21
Positive and creative approach to meeting student needs
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Competent ICT skills
