Job Description: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Preston - Preston based SEN Provision School
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30-15:30
Contract: Term Time Only
Daily Rate: £106 per day
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist provision in Preston, supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to deliver personalised support, promote positive behaviour, and help pupils achieve their individual targets.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with Special Educational Needs in both 1:1 and small group settings.
Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans and EHCP targets.
Provide support with academic tasks, communication, social skills, and emotional regulation.
Promote an inclusive and safe learning environment tailored to individual needs.
Assist with behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques when required.
Support teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and resources.
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and report concerns to senior staff.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external professionals.
Provide personal care support where required.
Contribute to the safeguarding and well-being of all pupils.

Experience in any of the following roles is beneficial:
Teaching Assistant
Youth Worker
Support Worker
Experience working with pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language difficulties, or other additional needs is advantageous.
