SEN Teaching Assistant - Longsight (Full-Time, November Start)

Location: Longsight, Manchester
Start Date: November 2025
Contract: Full-Time (via Spencer Clarke Group)

Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming school in the Longsight area to appoint a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team this November.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be working closely with pupils who have complex needs, providing tailored support to help them access learning and thrive in a nurturing school environment. You'll work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO, contributing to both individual education plans and classroom activities.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support children with complex learning, communication, or sensory needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible lessons.

  • Promote inclusion and help pupils develop confidence, independence, and social skills.

  • Maintain accurate records of progress and behaviour.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.

🧩 About You

  • Experience supporting children with SEN/complex needs (autism, ADHD, PMLD, or similar).

  • Patient, empathetic, and committed to making a difference.

  • Confident using a range of strategies to engage and motivate learners.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN training) are desirable but not essential.
