Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary Provision in Wythenshawe. This is a full-time, immediate start position, ideal for someone with a passion for supporting young people with Special Educational Needs, and who is comfortable providing personal care when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a range of Special Educational Needs, both academically and emotionally.

  • Assist with personal care needs of students, including feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance.

  • Work closely with the class teacher to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and strategies tailored to the student's needs.

  • Provide 1:1 support to students who require additional help in class or during activities.

  • Promote independence and encourage positive behaviours both in the classroom and during break times.

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the welfare and progress of students.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience supporting students with SEN, preferably in a secondary school setting.

  • A caring, patient, and understanding approach, with a focus on student welfare.

  • Comfortable with providing personal care where required (training can be provided if needed).

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and how to support students with complex needs.

  • Ideally, a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
