Overview
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join a school in Meldreth, an award-winning independent specialist day school on the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border.
The school provides a highly personalised learning environment for students aged 6 to 19 with a range of complex needs, including PMLD, MLD, SLD, ASD, ADHD, and associated medical or sensory difficulties. Many students also have physical impairments or medical conditions requiring specialist care.
The school offers state-of-the-art facilities, including a Hydrotherapy pool, extensive outdoor learning areas, and a fully integrated therapy team who work closely with teaching staff to provide a holistic, child-centred curriculum.

The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you'll deliver engaging, high-quality, and individualised lessons that meet the diverse needs of your pupils. You will work collaboratively with therapists, support staff, and senior leaders to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver tailored, creative lessons within a sensory-led curriculum.
Create a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
Lead and manage a team of classroom support staff effectively.
Collaborate with therapists and other professionals to support individual needs.
Assess, record, and report on pupil progress.
Support personal care routines and physical intervention if required.
Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent (essential).
Experience or strong understanding of SEN education and sensory-led learning.
Knowledge of the Teacher Standards and a commitment to professional development.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Patience, empathy, and a creative approach to teaching.
Confidence leading and motivating classroom teams.
