We are a specialist education recruitment agency currently working in partnership with a Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Longsight, Manchester, who are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and is looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and structured environment.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and tailored lessons
- Support pupils in managing behaviour and developing emotional regulation skills
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong behaviour management skills
- A proactive and flexible attitude
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
