The Role
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding school. You will provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH difficulties, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential social and emotional skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with SEMH needs in both classroom and one-to-one settings
- Assist in implementing individualised learning plans and behaviour strategies
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to support pupil progress
- Help create a safe and supportive learning environment
- Encourage social skills development and positive peer interactions
- Monitor and record pupil progress and wellbeing
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs (essential)
- Understanding of SEMH challenges and appropriate strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a calm approach
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEND support
